Building Culture & Championing Learners: Inside Chloe’s Role at The Social Co Academy

You’ve been a key part of The Social Co Academy’s journey – what does your role involve day-to-day?
My role at The Social Co Academy is varied, which is one of the things I love most about my job. Day-to-day, I’m responsible for coming up with creative content ideas for our social media platforms – from brainstorming new concepts to analysing performance data to see what’s engaging our audience most effectively. I organise content days, prepare briefs and ensure our strategy aligns with the Academy’s goals.
On the learner support side, I help with enrolments, manage paperwork and keep track of learner data and progress. I also stay in touch with our learners to check in on how they’re finding the course, answer any queries they have and make sure they feel supported throughout their journey.
As Head of People & Culture, I focus on creating a positive, inclusive workplace. This includes celebrating staff birthdays and life events, organising thoughtful gestures for awareness days such as World Mental Health Day or International Women’s Day and helping to boost staff morale where everyone feels valued and appreciated.
How has The Social Co Academy evolved since you first joined the team?
Since joining the team, I’ve seen incredible growth and transformation within The Social Co Academy. I was proud to play a part in helping us reach our milestone of 100 learners for NECA, which was a huge achievement and secured important funding in March. Since then, we’ve continued to grow our Digital Skills Bootcamp, converting leads and celebrating each learner’s milestones along the way.
I’ve also really enjoyed helping to grow our social media presence by bringing fresh content and design ideas to the table. It’s been great seeing how our viewers has responded – engagement has gone up and our following keeps growing and it’s been amazing to see how our hard work is paying off.

What do you enjoy most about working behind the scenes to support the Academy’s training and development?
What I enjoy most about working behind the scenes is knowing that everything I do helps make a real difference in our learners experience. Whether it’s responding to their questions, collecting feedback, or supporting them through challenges, it’s incredibly rewarding to see them succeed throughout their self employed businesses or career changes.
I also love the teamwork that goes into achieving our goals – when we hit milestones together, it feels like such a proud moment for everyone involved. Converting leads and welcoming new learners onto the course is another part I find really motivating, as it means more people are benefiting from what we’ve built. I love working on social media content that reflects the heart of the Academy – sharing what we do and celebrating the successes of our learners and the team behind it.
As Head of People & Culture, how do you help keep morale high and make The Social Co a great place to work?
As Head of People & Culture, my goal is to make sure every team member feels valued, recognised and supported. I keep track of birthdays and life events, choosing thoughtful gifts to show appreciation. For awareness days like World Mental Health Day, I plan small but meaningful initiatives – for example, having staff write anonymous appreciation notes to each other to spread positivity and kindness.
I also plan our staff socials and nights out, making sure everything runs smoothly so everyone can relax and enjoy themselves. It’s the little things – those thoughtful touches and shared moments – that really help build morale and make The Social Co a genuinely great place to work.

The Social Co has a strong team culture – what do you think makes it so unique?
I think what makes our team culture so unique is how well we communicate and support each other. Everyone is always willing to help, no matter what their role is and there’s a real sense of teamwork that runs through everything we do. We celebrate each other’s wins, lift each other up during challenges, and always work collaboratively towards our goals. It’s a culture built on mutual respect, kindness, and shared ambition and that’s what makes it so special.
You’re known for organising birthdays and team celebrations – why do those little moments matter so much in the workplace?
I truly believe those little moments make a big difference. Recognising birthdays, milestones, and life events like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day helps people feel seen and appreciated – not just for the work they do, but for who they are as individuals. It creates a sense of belonging and shows that the company genuinely cares about its people. These gestures might seem small, but they have a huge impact on morale, motivation and overall happiness at work.

What’s one initiative or change you’ve helped introduce that you’re really proud of?
One initiative I’m really proud of is helping shape and strengthen our social media strategy for The Social Co Academy. I spend time researching trends across platforms like Meta and TikTok to identify what will resonate with our audience and reflect our brand authentically. By analysing performance metrics and engagement data, I’ve been able to refine our approach and plan more effective content days and briefs. It’s rewarding to see our efforts translate into real growth and community engagement online.
What’s been your standout memory or highlight since joining The Social Co?
My standout memory has to be when we achieved our target of 100 learners. It was such a huge moment for the team – we all worked tirelessly, putting in long hours to make it happen and seeing that goal become a reality was incredibly rewarding. It not only showcased our determination and teamwork but also opened the door to new opportunities for the Academy. It’s a memory that really captures the spirit of what we do and why we do it.

Looking ahead, what are you most excited about for The Social Academy and the team in 2026?
Looking ahead to 2026, I’m most excited about the continued growth and evolution of The Social Co Academy. We’ve already achieved so much this year and there’s so much more on the horizon – from new projects and partnerships to expanding our reach and supporting even more learners. The Academy is growing stronger every day and I feel so proud and grateful to be part of such a passionate, creative and amazing team. The best is definitely yet to come!
